Sonakshi Sinha Impresses Rajnikanth

Cinematic icon Rajnikanth, who is working with Sonakshi Sinha for a Tamil film, is said to be impressed with Bollywood actress’ acting and quick adaptability.

Sonakshi Sinha is making her Tamil debut with Rajnikanth-starrer “Lingaa” and they were both seen shooting in Mysore lately.

“It is Sonakshi’s debut in the south and we all are quite fascinated, including Rajnikanth sir, with how she has adapted to the southern movie so quickly,” said a source close to the production team.

“Even though it is a completely foreign language for Sonakshi Sinha, she has been pretty quick with the shooting and all the scenes are coming out perfect in the first shot itself,” the source added.

The film is directed by KS Ravikumar.

Sonakshi and Anushka Shetty will be playing the female leads in the film, for which double Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman will compose the tunes.

It seems that actress Anushka is too much keyed into Kollywood than Tollywood these days as she is unable to allot 20 days for her much-hyped film “Rudhramadevi” and has put director Gunasekhar in a fix. She was supposed to rejoin Rudhramadevi unit, but she is stuck with her Tamil film with Ajith, since she didn’t want to annoy Tamil superstar and is keeping top Telugu director in waiting.

Even though Anushka is aware that her author-backed role in historical Rudhramadevi could give a fillip to her sagging T-town career, but the Mirchi actress is tied up in neighbouring state, say sources.

Although, its normal for top multi-lingual actresses to get caught in ‘date issues’ but they should get their priorities right. So, it is high time Anushka makes her choice and announce which language she would like to settle down, albeit toughest call of her acting career.

Shruti Hassan or Tamanna in Queen South remake

After rigorous brain storming, producer Tyagarajan and team has finally short listed two finalists for south remake of super hit ‘Queen‘.

Bollywood’s curly siren Kangana Ranaut has literally taken everyone by a surprise with this flick, so makers want someone who could emote more powerful to match that hot Gangster lady.

We’ve heard the names of Samantha and Trisha a couple of days back provided with their image across South. But the not so dazzling stardom of Trisha might prove futile, while Samantha became a regular in all movies which might really shadow down Queen’s box office chances.

Kollywood sources shared that they are thinking of Tamil siren Shruti Hassan as the best option for Queen remake, and if her dates are not available then they want to go with milky beauty Tamanna. We have to see who will grab it.

Both Shruti Hassan and Tamanna‘s innocent looks will suit this role of Rani, but what is to be seen how better they could outperform Kangana Ranaut. And if at all these two fail to allot dates, the makers blindly want to go with Anushka as Queen.

Will Anjali break Anushka’s ‘horror’ record tomorrow?

Actress Anjali makes a comeback in Tamil industry with the film starring Jeyam Ravi in lead role. Meanwhile, she has played a full-fledged female protagonist in a supernatural Telugu thriller titled Geethanjali scheduled to hit screens tomorrow (August 9). Directed by debutant Raj Kiran, the film also stars Brahmanandam in an important role.

The makers of this film have promised that audience will be having Goosebumps all throughout the film with lots of humour and horror blend together. They also affirm that Anjali will be appraised critical acclaims as Anushka had gained in Arundathi.

Anushka’s Birthday gift – ‘Rudhramadevi’ making video released

The makers of “Rudhramadevi“, an upcoming historic drama film, have released a “Making Video Journal” as a birthday gift for the film’s leading lady Anushka. The actress will be celebrating her birthday on Friday (7 November).

On Thursday, the makers released a stunning new look for Anushka from “Rudhramadevi.”  Anushka plays the role of Rudhramadevi, the princess of Kakatiya dynasty, in the film.

Releasing first-look posters, teasers or making videos have become a trend of sorts in Telugu cinema industry.

Last year, director Gunasekhar released the first-look poster of “Rudhramadevi” on Anushka’s birthday and this year, he has released a special video on her birthday occasion.

There are big expectations for “Rudhramadevi” as the film boasts of an ensemble cast including Anushka, Allu Arjun, Rana Daggubati, Krishnam Raju, Nithya Menen, Catherine Tresa, Aditi Chegappa and Prakash Raj among others.

Rana Daggubati plays the role of Chalukya Veerabadhra, while Allu Arjun will be appearing as Gona Ganna Reddy – a Robinhood kind of role.

“Allu Arjun‘s role will go down as one of the most memorable performances in the history of Telugu cinema. His role is similar to that of Robinhood and will appeal to both the masses and the classes,” Gunasekhar.

The first-look poster of Anushka, Prakash Raj and the motion poster of Allu Arjun have generated huge buzz surrounding the project. It remains to be seen if the “Making Video Journal” manages to raise the hype.

The shooting of “Rudhramadevi” is completely wrapped up and the post production work is going on in full swing.

Produced by Gunasekhar, “Rudhramadevi” is touted to be the first women-oriented film to have been made with a big budget of around Rs. 50 crore.

The film’s music is composed by Ilayaraja, while cinematography is handled by Ajayanan Vincent and edited by Sreekar Prasad.

Trisha loves negative comments on Anushka

That’s what we have to say, as the Ajith starrer “Yennai Arindaal” (Yentavaru gaani in Telugu) has hit screens the other day. There are loads of expectations on this flick and for now a positive buzz is being heard around. What about the two glamorous heroines Anushka and Trisha, who paired up with Ajith in the flick?

According to critics, both Anushka and Trisha have simpler roles in this Gowtham Menon directorial. Over the past few weeks, the ‘Baahubali‘ team released posters of several characters from the film – so as to introduce the key players in the story. Now, with the two most awaited posters left to be unveiled, fans across the country are overcome with excitement.

Today, the team revealed a poster of Tamanna in her avatar as ‘Avanthika’. The hashtag #AngelicAvenger was used to describe the character.

Next on the schedule, we have Rana Daggubati’s look as ‘Bhallaladeva’ on May 20th and finally, Prabhas as ‘Baahubali’ on May 22nd.

The audio and trailer launch is scheduled and confirmed for May 31st in Hyderabad.

“Baahubali” is a two-part period drama directed by SS Rajamouli and produced by Arka Mediaworks.

The first part, titled “Baahubali – The Beginning”, is scheduled for nationwide release this July. The film’s cast boasts of the popular stars Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka and Tamanna.
